LORENZO WALKER, JR

HITTING/OUTFIELD/DEFENSIVE

SPEED & AGILITY TRAINING

Lorenzo Walker, Jr. began his career in softball in 1994, as a coach at Christian Park Little League. After coaching within the league for 2 years, and being selected to coach the All-Star team at the end of each season, he transitioned to coaching at Eagle Creek Little League.  After completing 3 years with the league, he was once again selected to coach the All-star team each season. With that experience, he then transitioned to coaching High School softball.  During his 8-year stint as a high school coach, Lorenzo was named "Marion County coach of the year", "Star-North Coach of the year" and "Indianapolis Metropolitan Coach of the year". His high school teams compiled over 100 victories during those years.

Lorenzo founded the fast pitch travel softball organization, Indy Crush, in 2001 (which is known today known as Indy Crush Fast Pitch Academy). The organization is respected as one of the top fast pitch travel clubs in both the mid-west and along the east coast.  Through the tenure of the organization, over 50 young women have taken advantage of the opportunities made available through their exposure while playing for the Indy Crush to attain college softball scholarships. The organization has also produced many All-Conference, All-Region and All- American selections.  In August of 2011, Lorenzo became the first and only coach, within the state of Indiana, to coach an ASA/USA JO 18u-Girls Fast Pitch team to a National Championship. He has also coached 2 other teams to top 10 finishes at Nationals in the past twelve years.

Along with Lorenzo’s coaching experience, he has established himself as one of the top fast pitch hitting instructors in the mid-west. He has served as the lead fast pitch hitting instructor at 2 separate facilities for the past 8 years, and provided lessons to hundreds of softball players.  He was named as the Kentucky State Tournament Director in the mid-west region for Premiere Girls Fast Pitch (a new organization focused on conducting tournaments for elite softball players).  He was offered this opportunity based upon his experience, communication skills, and established network within the softball community.  Lorenzo will be responsible for organizing and running fast pitch tournaments for all age levels in Kentucky and in Southern Indiana. He then made an advancement move to join USSSA as the Region 7 USA Elite Select Director.
